THE CARRIAGE HOUSE THAT SITS BEHIND THE EXHIBIT BUILDING AND ADJACENT TO THE MUSEUM HAS SAT IN STORAGE FOR YEARS. IT HAS NOW BEEN HAD THE 1ST FLOOR AND GARAGE CLEANED OUT (WITH THANKS TO OUR TEEN VOLUNTEER KALE KORTH) AND BOARD MEMBERS. WHEW! WHAT A DAY! THE OUTSIDE HAS BEEN REPAINTED AND FIXED, THE FOUNDATION HAS BEEN REPAIRED AND THE SECOND FLOOR IS BEING CLEANED OUT. LOTS OF GREAT THINGS HAVE COME OUT OF STORAGE AND ARE BEING RESTORED. NEW PAINT WILL BE NEXT AND HOPEFULLY A GRAND OPENING SOMETIME IN THE NEAR FUTURE!
CURRENTLY IN THE PLANNING IS THE RESTORATION OF THE LOG CABIN THAT IS A POPULAR ATTRACTION BUT IS IN NEED OF UPKEEP TO REOPEN
We need help just to keep the museum running! Then there are all the repairs like the porch that needs to be redone, insulation needs, basement repair, electrical updates, etc. The list goes on and on...If you or your company are interesting in donating in ANY way, please contact us!
IN ADDITION TO THE ENDLESS PAPER TRAILS AND MAINTENANCE, OUR TEAM HAS BEEN UPDATING DISPLAYS AND CLEANING OUT OUR INVENTORY. WE HAVE SCANNED IN SEVERAL HUNDRED NEVER BEFORE SEEN GLASS PRINT NEGATIVES AND HAVE A NEW SCANNER SPECIFIC FOR GLASS NEGATIVES THAT IS AMAZING!
We are working on lawn renovations with the generous help of Pearson Power Equipment and Y&Y lawn service
